2011 Georgia NBL State Team Series Rules

and Trophy team Rules

 

 

Rules:

  1. All Georgia NBL team managers must submit a team roster and signed commitment forms from every rider listed on the team roster to the State Commissioner at the first State Qualifier in which the team intends to compete.  This commitment form must be signed by the rider, parent (if rider is under 18) and the team manager before the rider competes.  If the rider signs more than one commitment form, he/she will be put on the first team roster received.
  2. If there is no signed commitment form submitted for a rider on a team roster, that rider will not be accepted as a team rider and their points will not apply towards the team roster.
  3. All team rosters will be published on the Georgia website (www.georgiabmx.org) under Team Rules.
  4. Final team standings will be determined by best of four out of five   State Qualifiers, and the State Championship.
  5. When a team drops a rider, the team manager must notify the State Commissioner, in writing, of the change in the roster.  When the notice is received by the State Commissioner, the rider will not be eligible to ride for a new team for the remainder of the state season.
  6. When a rider voluntarily leaves a team, they must notify the State Commissioner, in writing.  When the notice is received by the State Commissioner, the rider will not be eligible to ride for a new team for the remainder of the state season.
  7. If a rider leaves a team, he/she may not rejoin that team for the remainder of the season.
  8. Any riders who are added to a current team roster must present a signed commitment form and the team manager must present the updated team roster to the State Commissioner prior to the first State Qualifier in which the team intends to count the new riders’ points.
  9. All team rosters will be frozen at the final State Qualifier, therefore no changes will be allowed for the State Championship.

 

Composition, Entry & Scoring:

  1. Team managers may only enter one team per race.
  2. All team sheets must be signed by the team manager or designated agent and must be submitted to the State Commissioner before the start of the race.
  3. The scored team sheet must be turned into the State Commissioner at least 30 minutes after the final main or it will not be counted for that race.
  4. A team sheet may not have less than three (3) riders.  A team sheet may use five (5) riders and drop the lowest score for a four-person scoring sheet.  Four (4) riders are the total number you may use for scoring.  Teams using a five-rider scoring sheet must use at least one female rider.
  5. Teams can consist of Experts, Cruisers, Girls, Challengers and Rookies.  No Pros.
  6. A rider may not be used twice on the same team sheet.

 

Trophy team entries:  NEW for 2011

The trophy team series is new to the Georgia State Series for 2011.  All team rules and regulations apply with this ONLY exception.  The team may not exceed 10 riders. 

 

Points & Tie Breakers:

1.      Based on their finish in either the 3rd moto or the main, team riders will receive the following points :    1st - 20pts, 2nd - 18pts, 3rd - 16pts, 4th - 14pts, 5th - 12pts, 6th - 10pts, 7th - 8pts, 8th - 6pts.  Bonus points will be awarded as follows,  based on number of riders in a given class or combined class:  2-3 riders -1pt, 4-5 riders -3pts, 6-7 riders -5pts, 8-9 riders -7pts, 10-15 riders -9pts, 16 and over riders -11pts.  These points are awarded irrespective of finish in class.

2.      In the event of tie scores between teams at a race, the tie will be broken according to the following format: 

                        1st tie breaker:  Most first place finishes in 3rd moto or main. 

                        2nd tie breaker: Most second through eighth place finishes in the 3rd moto or the main.

                       3rd tie breaker: Most total bonus points of the scoring team.

                        4th tie breaker : Highest classification of the  riders on the scoring team in order of expert, novice, rookie, cruiser, girl

3.      Any tie in the State Series points will be broken according to how the teams placed at the State Championship race, with the team finishing higher at the State Championship being awarded the higher position in season points.

 

Entry Fees and Awards:

  1. Georgia NBL team entry fee will be $25.00 per team.
  2. Georgia Trophy team entry fee will be $10.00 per team
  3. Payback will be 100 %  at State Qualifying races for Georgia NBL Teams . Trophy team will be awarded trophy of the day.
  4. Payout at State Qualifiers for Georgia NBL teams  to be as follows:

        (1 teams - 1st 100%), (2-3 teams - 1st 60%, 2nd 40%), (4-5 teams -1st 50%, 2nd 305%, 3rd20%), (6-7 teams - 1st 30%, 2nd 25%, 3rd 20%, 4th15% 5th 10%), (8-9 teams 1st 30%,2nd25%,3rd 20%, 4th 10% , 5th 9%, 6th 6%),( 10 or more teams 1st 25%, 2nd 20% 3rd 15%, 4th 10%, 5th 9%, 6th 8%, 7th 7%, 8th 6%).

  1. Payout at the State Championship race  for Georgia NBL teams  will be the total of the day’s entry fees distributed according to the above formula.
  2. Overall series winners will have the $1800.00 purse distributed according to the above formula.  
  3. Trophy Teams will always be awarded trophy of the day for all qualifiers and championship.
  4. State Qualifiers payout will be enhanced by a $200 additional purse from Georgia State BMX.
  5. Georgia State BMX will be enhancing the State Championship with a $1000 purse and each track will be contributing $200 towards the total amount.  Therefore the total prize package to be distributed according to the above formula for the OVERALL winners will be $1800.00
