State Championship
Nominations for the 2006 race season will be accepted starting at the first State Qualifier at Augusta. Nominations will be accepted by telling any track officer, via email, or any other means. Anyone interested in running for a State Office may send in his or her own request as well. The cut-off date for nominations will be Sept 11,2005.
Anyone accepting a nomination will submit their list of qualifications to be posted on the website. This will allow the voters to be aware of those who will be on the ballot at
the State Championship Banquet.
All race reports need to be in to the State Points Clerk by September 10,2005.
Those race reports not received by the deadline will not be counted.
All point’s protests need to be made by September 18, so that ample time will be available to make corrections.
Amendments of State By-laws
Updates will be made after a decision has been made as to how to elect officials and when the terms begin and end. Considerations include State Championship to State Championship or Presidents Cup to Presidents Cup.
It was agreed that any one person wishing to hold both a State office and a local office must have the approval of both State officers and local track officials.
An amendment was made to allow residents of another state to be an officer at a Georgia track. Was brought to attention that it was not fair to tracks with volunteers from neighboring states not be able to hold an office. Was voted on and agreed that there is no residential requirement.
Presidents Cup Team Captain:
This is a position in which a person would take care of and handle all aspects of a team going to the Presidents Cup. This may or may not be the State Commissioner or any other qualified person. This will be put on the agenda and discussed at the first State Qualifier.
Meeting adjourned at 11:00 pm by Rob Potter
