Location: Macon, GA

Attending: Shayne Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Mitch Moon, Tommy Knight, Sonny Hines, Kim Snaverly, Laurie Corley, Thomas  Gonzalez, Danny Acord

1.  Discussion of price increases for local and State racing:

State Qualifiers: $25 pre registration, $30 post registration

State Championship: $35 pre registration, $40 post registration

A.     GA State no longer collects money from tracks for local races.  GA State is self-sufficient.

B.     GA State will still supply jerseys, bike plates, and trophies for state championship.  GA the only state to do so. Jerseys will be ordered after the state race due to GA State ordering them and riders not showing up to race.  It costs the State money to do this.  Jerseys will be sent to the track directors to hand out 6-8 weeks after championship.

C.     GA State doesn’t rely on tracks for supplies any longer.

D.     NBL costs for insurance at local races going up $.25 per rider.

1.      NBL liable for up to 10 years for any accidents on the tracks.

2.      NBL may look at offering supplemental insurance to riders.  With people out of work claims have increased and the NBL insurance rating has gone down.

E.      NBL charges tracks a minimum of $30 for gate practice.  It’s up to tracks if they would like to charge their riders.  Tracks need to turn in the payments to the NBL since that is a stream of revenue for them.

F.      TB Trophy prices are going up in Jan.

G.     Only 10% of riders actually pre register.  If riders do pre register and can’t make the race they will be given credit for the next race.

H.     Albany may have to move up fees to $10.  McDonough will discuss at their next parent meeting.  Augusta and PTC ok with current fee schedule.

Championship will be October 2, 2010 in Augusta.

4. Rule changes:

A.                          2 moto transfer with a main.  Motos pointed by class, main pointed as you finish.  Single points still to be used for point keeping.  This is to make pointing more even because not everyone has mains.  Should make team racing more even also.

B.                           Introduce Mom and Pop trophy series with a $10 entry fee.  Maximum of 10 riders per team.  This is for smaller groups that would like to have team camaraderie.  Teams must have matching jerseys or shirts.

C.                          GA State requests for each track to contribute $200 toward team series. State will contribute $400.

5. Competition Congress, who is going?

A.     Will be held in Bethlehem, PA.

B.     Please do not give your proxy vote to anyone outside of GA if you are not attending.

6. Upcoming GA Nationals and Regionals, who needs help?

A.     Tracks need to have all volunteers in place before race day.  Shayne will have list of qualified volunteers.  Track Directors must call and arrange their own help.

B.     Track Directors are responsible to submitting hotel info, directions, schedule, etc for the BMX magazine.

C.     May have a small group of volunteers to watch the others to make sure all track rules are being followed.

7. Official training course offered by Anthony and Shayne.  Get your volunteers licensed.  November 14th from 10am till 2pm.

8.  Open forum.

A.     Will be Shayne’s last year as state commissioner unless at last minute no one comes forward to replace her.  Shayne may consider another year.  October 2nd 2010 will be the last day of her position.

B.     Black, red, white, and gold plaques for 2010 GA State qualifier series.  Same program as last year with the decals being handed out to add to plaque.

C.     Before a track applies for a National or Regional race they need $5000 in the bank as a rule.  NBL will look at ridership, how successful the state is, etc. before awarding races.  Some tracks submit portfolios to NBL.  Very competitive.

D.     Florida series is different.  NBL awards races and Florida decides where to put them within the state.
