MINUTES OF TRACK DIRECTORS MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 22ND 6PM.

 

 

  1. Welcomed Aaron Oney to the Ga State Team and made introductions.

 

 

  1. Track directors pledge support of volunteers and organizational skills to any track that is awarded a national or regional.

 

  1. Cost of racing will stay at $7 for points and $10 for trophy.  Tracks may charge for gate practices at their own discretion.

 

  1. New banner for Ga State Approved.

 

  1. PTCBMX will race on Sat. afternoons as usual with 2 night races in September and  October. Gate Prac will remain Thursday night. PTCBMX handed out 2008 proposed schedule for their track.

 

SANDY RIDGE will race Sat. nights as usual with gate prac on Tuesday and paid prac. On Friday nights.

 

SPEEDWAY BMX will race Sunday afternoon with gate prac on Wednesday night.

 

AUGUSTA BMX will race it usual schedule.

 

ALBANY<RIVERBMX and DOTHAN will try and co-ordinate their schedules in October at the Fall Classic.

 

  1. State Series will run in the following order for 2008.

 

River BMX

Augusta BMX

McDonough

Albany

Speedway

PTCBMX

 

State Championship to be hosted by PTCBMX 2008.

 

Plan to start in February, will wait for national and regional schedule to come out before finalizing. State Champ. Date to be decided.

 

Start times will be across the board 11am -1pm prac and reg. race at 2pm.

 

Prices to remain $20/$25 pre and post and $30/35 for the champ. Discounts on pre-payment for entire series to be number crunched! No refund for this. $10 discount for family of 3 riders still undecided!

 

Qualifying to be 3/6 State Qualifiers and 8 local races.No points for local racing, just credit.  Tracks will push the LEAP program at their tracks and offer additional incentives for riders. Points will remain the same for State Qualifiers.

 

Team racing: 4/6 races.  Danny to look into getting a sponsor for the Team Series, perhaps a trailer? Rules will remain as is.  ONLY qualified riders may race on the team for the State Champ.

 

Tracks will still have the $5 budget for trophy of the day.  Shayne to research the photo frame idea and other trophy options and prices.

 

Capped out riders will receive a special surprise  from State for their achievement.

 

Pizza and cake will remain on the menu for the down time before awards ceremony.
