MINUTES OF TRACK DIRECTORS MEETING JANUARY 06, 2007

 

 

Present:  Anthony Robinson, Rob Potter, Ricky Lawrence, Danny Accord, Phillip Hart, David Goen, Shayne Robinson.

 

Meeting called to order at 9.30am.

 

  1. Track schedules received from Augusta, Sandy Ridge and Peachtree City.  Albany to confirm dates with Chehaw Parks.  Speedway will be racing Friday nights in Summer and Sunday afternoons in Spring and Fall.

 

  1. BW Scholarship races finalized.  In order to better raise money for this scholarship tracks will have that day exclusively!

  1. Discussion on using website, myspace.com and active.com as tools for communicating with riders about race schedules and events.  Peachtree City has launched myspace.com website, run a test announcement on active.com.  If successful other tracks to try.  McDonough and Speedway to contact Jim regarding updates and use of their websites.  Track directors also will try and use cycling clubs websites to announce track schedules.
  2. $700 from Presidents Cup will be used to purchase gear bags for the 24 riders and will be embroidered with name and Ga State Logo. Hope is that this will act as an incentive for others to join us at this year end event.  Rob Potter to research price with Fly!  Sweet Bros to handle embroidery . State receives check from NBL in February.
  3. All race reports and checks, to be posted 48 hours after racing.
  4. Tracks will implement new rider package to include magazine, number plate with vinyl stick-on numbers, schedules, and by-laws for the track that has signed that rider. 
  5. Ga State Series racing.  Riders may only have rolled up jeans to their ankles!  NBL rules will be implemented at all state races. Long sleeved shirts may not be rolled up!     Trying to get riders ready for Nationals when UCI rules are being phased in.
  6. Tracks will try to get as many of their volunteers licensed with the NBL. This service is free.
  7. Team racing. State will pay the winning team at the Championship race $100 cash. ( pizza party for the team)  This is in addition to their regular payout.  State will post all the names of the team riders on the website.  Rob Potter looking into a trailer sponsorship as a prize as well.
  8. GA GAMES.  All tracks agree that they would like to host this event this year.  Shayne to e-mail contact details to all track directors.
  9. Voting at the State Championship will be one NBL class license, one vote.  Only 18 and older may vote.  A parent or guardian may vote for their child  who is under 18 years old.  YOU MUST BRING YOUR NBL LICENSE TO VOTE. Strictly enforced.
  10. All tracks agree to add to their by-laws that when there is a change in leadership, all by-laws, affiliation papers, finances will be handed over in an orderly fashion!  This will facilitate changes more effectively.
  11. Ga State Championship package.  36 inch trophy, ( personalized ) state jersey and number plate.  Combination of plaques and medallions for State Qualifiers.  Speedway will have T shirts.  Series t shirts will be sold.  Special support crew t shirt will be sold for the Presidents Cup for parents and guardians who go to the President Cup.  Create a huge team effect!   Design jersey competition will again be held.  Membership renewal is reward.

 

 

  1. Competition Congress.  Candy will go for State,  Anthony Robinson and Phillip Hart,  David Goen and Freedom Wallace  will be representing their tracks.  Shayne Robinson and  several members from Augusta  track will be attending in a private capacity. Shayne to collect relevant information and paperwork for Albany and Speedway tracks.   Note to remind all parents and riders that Competition Congress is open to all NBL riders and their families!
  2. LEAP awards will be sent to the tracks in March. Please let your riders know.
