President's Cup 2007 Report:

What a wonderful turn out for Georgia! 29 riders arrived to represent their State, Cole Accord raced 2 classes, giving us 30 riders filling up the initial 193 moto count for the event. The track was in superb condition, with something for everyone. Ms Shayne was a little nervous about the deep, lipped double going into the second turn, ( rumor has it I got one whole foot of air) and we did have some extremely deep rollers in the rhythm section, ( lost some riders there ), but on the whole a great racing track. A big thank you to our team captain Karen Allen for the day and to Alex Fritz who captured some perfect pictures of our riders.

Georgia placed 10th overall, but this did not truly reflect how well our riders raced! 25 riders made their main, and because the Presidents Cup is run like a local, sadly Mallory, Cheyenne, Anthony, Jeffrey and Shayne did not have a main event and they did very well, but basic points only!!! It was up to the remaining 20 riders to set the tone. Our 14 expert class was exceptionally well represented with Alex Palmer, Blake Floyd, Nathan Grant and Brandon Brown. Nathan Grant went on to take the win for us. Cole Accord raced both cruiser and class and came in 2nd on both with Kalee Reynolds showing her girl power and bringing home a second. We had a few mishaps but overall we had a score of 178 points. Michigan surprised us all with the win over Ohio and Florida.

The Presidents Cup was a little smaller than 2006 and the classes were very small, but the spirit was as big as ever. I was very proud to go up and accept the check for $300 on behalf of our riders. WELL DONE!! We hope to have more riders there this year. Georgia riders also did very well in the Nationals following and everyone truly enjoyed the UCI races. Great to see the pros up close and personal.

We start our State Series March, 08 2008 and with tracks racing this month you have an opportunity to get a head start on your qualifying 8 local races.

Thank you to the Georgia State Riders and their parents who made the trip to Ohio.
