AUGUSTA October 02nd
Report back on SQ 4 at Augusta on July 17th
What a great day for this State Qualifier, hot, humid but breezy!
98 riders came out to enjoy some exciting racing on a track and
facility that was groomed to perfection to welcome the Regional
riders for next weeks even bigger event. Thank you so much to all
the volunteers, Mitch Moon ( track director) and the parents
association who worked so hard to make this day a special one for
all our riders. Thanx to Doran Heating and Air Inc. for the free
popsicles during the race, a heat life saver for all and greatly
appreciated.
The experts delivered some very skillful racing on a course with
some good old fashioned dirt berms, straights 6 long and tight
cornering. Mark Mitchell, 41 expert made it look easy with his
perfects, Brandon Brown had to fight every race for his wins being
chased hard by local Vanden Dixon and Nathan Grant. Nick Connelly
and local racer Thomas Tedesco gave the crowd some exciting racing.
The lead changed hands several times, but Nick held onto to it in
the mains.
Our novice riders enjoyed same challenges. The length of the
track and some of the dirt berms changed the leads several times
during the race. Dylan Munoz used home track advantage for his wins,
and Bryce Moon almost made it a perfect racing a 14 expert Christian
Perry.
Girls, girls, girls everywhere competing. The Beynon girls,
Stephanie and Anna, represented well with firsts and second, Alexis
got her perfects in and Cheyenne took home the gold too.
Cruiser racing was probably the most spectacular racing of the
day. The 40-44Cr with a 50 plus cruiser were 7 deep!!! All men are
great friends off the track but when that gates drops, all bets are
off. Rob McAllister, Thomas Gonzalez, Robert Perry and Sonny Hines
were in the mix first and second straights, no-one went down in
those corners, then 2nd berm saw some changes. Rob came out first
followed by Robert Perry and Thomas Gonzalez, Sonny was off the
course in the melee, the race for the finish line 3 straights away
was on. Rob McAllister held onto his lead to the end with Robert and
Thomas rounding out the top 3, Anthony, Matt, Sonny and Bart were no
slouches either and finished close on their heels.
Rookie classes seem to grow with each State Qualifier. Alden
Parker 9 rookie held onto his first places all day being chased by
local Cory Gill. Kaleb Rider looking more like a novice won his 6
rookie class and Hunter Janes 5 Rookie took home the win for his
class.
Team Racing is getting tighter to the finish line. Fast Back
outraced Black Crown for the win and that puts these 2 teams in a
tie position going into the LCQ in Peachtree City. Augusta BMX and
Bike Tech put in some good scores too. 4/5 scores plus the State
Championship will determine who our Team Champs will be October 2nd.
Stay tuned.
Look forward to seeing you all in Peachtree City, September 11th
for the LCQ #5.
Thank you for supporting GA State BMX.

Report back on SQ 3 at McDonough on June 26th
Thank you to all the riders and their parents who braved the close to 100 degree weather that was visited upon us. We had a great turnout of 145 riders, with some truly exciting motos and a very tight team finish results, going down to the 4th set of tie breakers. Thank you to the volunteers and parents association of Sandy Ridge BMX for preparing the track for this event.
Expert racing was at its best this weekend,. Mark Mitchell led the charge in the combined 41 expert, 35-40 expert class, with Waymon Post a novice keeping the boys honest. Alex Palmer maintained his perfect score this weekend as well as Ty Robinson. RJ Livesay enjoyed his perfect with Matthew Gates and Doug Pottter our 35-40 novice gentlemen just keeping him in check throughout the motos and the main.
Girls were everywhere this weekend. Thank you to Courtney Applewhite from NC passing through
GA joined us for the day and to Kendra Stoddard from FL. We thoroughly enjoyed having you this weekend. Kalee Reynolds took home the win this weekend and perfected her motos as did Stephanie Beynon. Nice racing ladies.
Cruiser class, always some great racing. Rob McAllister ruled the roost this weekend with his perfects and team mate Thomas Gonzalez hot on his heels all day.
Our 17 rookie class is beginning to look a lot like a novice class these days!! I think we may have some move-ups coming in. Ezra, Michael, Frankie and Timothy have all matured on the track and were looking very solid out there all weekend, Ezra took home the wins though. Keep your eyes on this class. Alden Parker, our 9 rookie, has been training hard and came home with the gold! Kaleb Rider, our 6 rookie, looked good all weekend racing to his wins as did Hunter James, Sam Walters and Logan Campbell dueled it out in the mains with Sam taking home the win. Superb racing from our 5r and under rookie class.
Team racing is always exciting and although Chehaw and Fast Back received the same scores, FastBack won it on a tiebreakers. Black Crown came in for the 3rd. Kovachi, Evolution and Augusta BMX rounding out the finishes.
Round 4 will be hosted by Augusta BMX JULY 17th. GA State will supply frozen popsicles to keep you cool throughout racing.
Thank you for supporting GA State BMX.

April 17TH
was simply a wonderful day in Chehaw Parks. The weather co-operated perfectly, track was
in good shape and ready for our racers.
Thank you to all the volunteers at Chehaw . This was a wonderful opportunity to dial in
the track before the Regional this coming weekend.
Expert riders saw Christian Perry, James Donnelly, Ty
Robinson and Alex Palmer keep up the perfect rides for the day. There was some great racing between Cole
Acord and Nicholas Wells vying for the perfect line through the corners. It was
only in the main that Cole took home the first place. Look for some exciting
dueling in the races to come. Keagan Bryson is back in the game with his
perfects and Toby Daw also from Florida
took home his win for the 11 novice.
Cruiser action all day long. The men raced like boys !!!
Anthony and Mike were racing Shayne and she kept both of them honest on the
track. They diced in the corners while
she looked for opportunities! They swapped firsts and second with Anthony
pulling off the win for the main. Thomas
Gonzales really wants that number 1 plate but so do Robert Perry and Bart Lundy. Thomas took home the final
win, but look out for Bert and especially Bart in his super dupa new blue bike.
I believe Blueberry will be his nickname!
Our rookie classes are still growing nicely. Christian Sykes
ruled the 8 rookie class, Devin Harris captured the title of the day for 9
rookie, and great balls of fire but Rickie Jennings turned on the gas to take
home the wins for 7 rookie. The 13 and
14 rookie class will see some point challenges ahead as they age up for the
State Championshiip. Andrew is staying on top with his perfect and Jacob and
Sawyer will be vying for that number 1 plate too. A special welcome to Jacob Bolt just turned
4 and the tiniest rider out there. He
made it around the whole track on his own. Hunter Janes took home first
followed by Logan Campbell.
Team racing was small but might close this time. With ties
for first place scores of 86, Bizzarro/Black Crown took home the gold followed
by Team Chehaw, Fast Back, Evolution and Bike Tech. Thank you Team Managers for
your support.
NEXT SQ #3 is at McDonough June 26th. See you’all there.

Report back on SQ 1 at PTC on March 20th
It was a beautiful spring day in Peachtree City for our first
State Qualifier. A big thank you to all the volunteers who prepped
the track the days before and who worked so hard for us the day of
the race. Congratulations to all for a job very well done. We had an
impressive turnout of 155 riders. Thank you.
Lets start out with the team racing. Pleased to announce that we
have 8 money teams participating this year, some returning from 2009
and others newly combined. Thank you in advance to all the team
managers for your hard work. As all classes now have a main, racing
was exciting and very close. The mains were full and bonus points
abounded. Kovachi took home top honors for the day with Black Crown/Bizzarro taking second followed closely by Fastback racing.
Evolution, Cahaba, Augusta BMX, Team Chehaw and Bike Tech rounded
out the finishes. Welcome to Cahaba team from Alabama, we are glad
you are making the trip. While teams are still forming this will be
anyone’s game moving forward.
Rookie classes will be the one to watch this season . Our 5/u, 6
and 7 rookies are duelling out on the track. Bailey Smith dominated
in the 5/u, Trent Lewis did his mother proud with his wins in the 6
rookies and JT Mobley proved he is the one to watch this season. I
do see some move-ups coming along in this age group.
Novice racing is full of adventures and misadventures Cody Dutton
took home a hard earned win in the 15 novice, dicing it out with
Christopher Moore, Marcus Mascara raced his heart out to take home
the gold in the main. Not to outdone I have to give credit to the
35-40 novice. Matthew, Jon and Doug ran a very close race with Matt
winning out in the end. As the season warms up and the riders get to
race more this will be an exciting class to watch.
Expert racing is just that, 8 on the gate, elbow to elbow, skills
to match their speed and fierce competition. Our 17-18 expert is an
explosive class with Travis Woodruff holding onto his win and
Chandler Denton, Nathan Grant inches from him at the finish line.
Mark, Thomas, Anthony and Jim raced like youngsters on Saturday!!!!!
Waymon the only novice in the group, looked good out there too. Mark
Mitchell for Kovachi took home the win with Thomas breathing down
his neck and Anthony right behind.
Girls did a great job too. Congratulations to Melody Large, Kalee
Reynolds, and Reese Camarata on your perfects for the day. Kyle just
recently clipped in and gave Alicia Allen notice that she is getting
faster!
Cruisers. Some of our guys were doing double duty this SQ. Rob
Mcallister took home the perfect motos and wins. Vinnie Decastro is
back and finished second with Thomas taking home the third place
finish.
Thank you to all our NBL Bmxers for making this a great opening
day for the series. We look forward to seeing you all in Albany for
round 2 Albany, Chehaw Parks.
Yours in riding,
Shayne, Lori, Terri and Thomas.

GEORGIA STATE COMMISSIONER REPORT on PRESIDENTS CUP 2009.
Thank you to all our GA State riders and their parents for making
this an outstanding event for us. 54 entries for the President’s Cup
. A total of 913 riders from all over attended the Presidents Cup
2009 at Louisville Kentucky. Our final placing of 10th with a score
of 199, did GA State proud. Special thanx to Karen Allen for keeping
score along with Mrs Farmer and Lisa Knight who assisted. Great job
girls!
The event started with the parade lap of States. GA stood out with
our blue jerseys and beanies to match. It is always a spine tingling
moment to see all the riders covering every inch of the track before
the big event. Then it was into staging as the experts took to the
track. We were well represented with Nathan Grant , and Logan
Bradford pulling off seconds to anchor our team in tough racing. The
girls were well represented with Kaylee Miller upsetting the 15 G
class with a first place win, Cheyenne Grant securing a 2nd in the
14G, and Shayne Robinson with Lauren Hines finishing out our top
scorers for team points. Novice!!!! Well, Alan Farmer certainly
outdid himself. What a win. He raced the very competitive 35-40
novice class, I believe if he keeps this up he will be an expert
before we know it. Matthew Gates set a personal best with a 3rd
place win in that group. Go Georgia!! A special shout out to our
rookies for whom this was a first big event. You all did Georgia
proud. All our riders represented our State with dignity and
respect. I was a very honored State Commissioner to have such a
great group of competitive riders, thank you.
This year, 2010, should be a great one for racing. Hopefully your
President Cup stories will inspire new riders to come out this year
and give it a try. Looking forward to a spectacular year of racing
2010. State Qualifier #1 in Peachtree City March 20th. See you
there.
Kind Regards and yours in racing,
Shayne Robinson
Ga State Commissioner.

Report back on GA State Championship at Albany on 3rd October:
HOSTED BY CHEHAW PARKS IN ALBANY.
Albany website
Check your points!
Simply WOW!! The track and the facility were in excellent shape, the volunteers
and Chehaw Parks did a wonderful job and even the weather co-operated for us. We
had 141 riders compete for their State plate,12 raced the pro-am series, and 9
set up for the open series. All in all a great turnout for Georgia State BMX.
Thank you moms,dads and riders.

I will start the day with the team racing. It always come down to the State
Championship and this was no exception. Chehaw Parks capitalised on home ground
and won the day of racing with a whopping 94 points, the other teams were all
neck and neck with 3 tie breakers deciding finishes. Then nail biting adding up
the combined totals. Congratulations to BICYCLES UNLIMITED, followed by Kovachi
Wheels, Chehaw Parks, Team Savage, River City BMX, Juluka, Team Xtreme, Augusta
BMX, Bike Tech, KBBMX and Atlanta Trek Store. Special thanx for all your hard
work and look forward to seeing you’all back here next year.
Our Rookie class saw some Expert action out on the track. Peyton Matthews and
even smaller Blake Farmer gave it their all with Peyton taking home the win.
Rickie, Braden Race and Michael were right up there with them till the end.
Congratulations to our 4/under rookies Logan Campbell and Tyler Tedesco. Justin
Howling’s practicing paid off for him in the 12 rookie class, and Dean Smith
took home the gold in the 13 rookie. We will have a great batch of novice moving
up in the future.

Who said that the older you get the less competitive you become? The hotly
contested 35-40 novice class will deny that!!! Alan Farmer triumphed over
everyone, raced his heart and soul to beat Thomas Gonzales and Anthony Wade.
Sonny Hines dominated the 41 and over novice class and a special thanx to Al
Ferri to making the trip back here to participate. He gave Sonny a run for his
money. The hotly contested 11 novice class between Jordan Camarata and Logan
Bradford brought out the best in both riders with Jordan taking home the number
1 plate. We will be seeing both riders in the expert class before the year is
done. Thomas Tedesco has matured as a rider and after his win I look forward to
seeing him the expert class not too long now.

The 16 expert class, all friends for 5 years at least now of racing, saw Nathan
Grant emerge as the number one. Alex Palmer surprised everyone with a great 2nd
place finish overall with Michael Porter finishing 3rd. Justin and Keagan took
home the gold in their classes with Travis solidifying his place as number 1 in
State in the 18 experts.
Cruisers and girls. Our girls all arrived to race, a 100 % turnout and most
certainly raced hard for their wins. Melanie Lawrence used home track advantage
to take home her win over Jansen and Hailey. Our 40-44 Cruiser male class action
was one of the most hotly contested on the day. Scott Lovelace and Thomas
Gonzales although Thomas took home the moto wins he just missed the title by 10
points. Same time, same place next year gentlemen?!

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes making this event
happen for you. We will be announcing our series for next year in November with
some exciting racing changes and introducing some new team structures for you to
compete in.
Don’t forget the President’s Cup will be in Broadbent Arena Louisville,
Kentucky December 27th. We will see you all there!!

Report back on SQ # 4 at Chehaw Parks, Albany on July 18:
Race Results
Points posted Photos coming soon.
Mother nature smiled upon us again and we had a beautiful sunny, not
too hot a day at Chehaw Parks in Albany. This was a great end to the
final of our 4 State Qualifiers. Georgia riders and teams came out
in full force to compete for best points of the day and to take away
the $500 team money that was available courtesy of Lee County Bank.
Special thank you to all Chehaw Parks volunteers for all their hard
work. Thank you to Tim Huff for taking care of the announcing
duties.
The 16 expert class is still one of the fastest races to watch and
this time did not disappoint. Nathan Grant managed to pull off a win
in the main event over Brandon Murphy, but no-one perfected the day.
Colby Fisher showed up from Florida to get some track time in and
made it more interesting. Alex Palmer has dominated the 15 Ex so far
this year and moves up to race the 16 year olds at the State
Championship. Ryan De Roche and Ty Robinson, both 14 experts, had
some exciting racing with Ryan taking it at the finish line. Our 12
and 11 experts is a growing class as the novices move up into this
class. Well Done to Nicholas Wells 11 expert ,who moved up last week,
and Blake Price 12 expert ( who also recently move into this group )
held onto his first place.
Our novices were definitely looking for their best points this
weekend. Drew Price took home the perfects to improve his points,
Jordan Camarata and Marcus Mascara jousted for position all day,
Jordan made the win in the main with Logan and Marcus chasing him
down. Andrew Sperano, William Seitz, and Ezra Poole and Alec Rogers
are definitely a class on their own, and always manage to race hard
despite the differences in their ages!!
Mike Corley has been practicing hard but was unable to pass David
Capell on the corners in the cruiser class. It was good to see Marc
Thomas return to roll the gate while his shoulder heals! Of course
Rob Potter and Victor Palmeri dominated their classes but always a
handshake and good word for their competitors at the finish line.
The ladies always represent well and despite all our physical
challenges of the day , from broken toes, sore knees, bruised ribs,
Lauren, Melissa, Shayne, Lori, Kathy, Brandy and Savannah had fun!
Don’t know how long our rookies will stay rookies.!!We had some
wonderful racing with Denver Beamon, Austin Hutson and Jack
Woolbright making it a perfect day. Dean Smith held off Chase Gause
and Chaz Crawford fought off Evan Williams in nail biting finishes
to take home the wins for this event. Blake farme in our 5/under
rookie class enjoyed his first places and Stephen Mills continues
his winning streak in the 7 rookie class.
Thank you to Lee County Bank for their generous donation of $500
towards the team series of the day. Bicycles Unlimited posted a
strong first place finish, with Kovachi and Bike tech placing 2nd
and 3rd. Please see the team finishes for final results. Ga State
would like to say a BIG BIG thank you to all team managers who have
put in so much time and energy in racing the team series. If you
have any input for the 2010 series, we are looking to revamp our
series please let you State Commissioner know.
Look forward to seeing you’all October 03rd in Chehaw Parks for the
State Championship.
Shayne, Stacy, Nicolle and Mike.

Report back on SQ # 3 at Peachtree City on June 20:
It was a superlative day in so many ways!!! Super
hot weather, super smooth track, super volunteers and super fast
riders of all ages. Thank you to everyone for making this so
successful. Big thanx to the Peachtree City BMX crew who worked so
hard behind the scenes and on the day to produce a smoothly operated
State Qualifier. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank
our riders who travelled from Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and
Alabama. Welcome to the Georgia State Series, we are so glad you are
with us.
Lets start with cruiser action. The men are super competitive in
this class. Victor Palmeri held onto his perfect with Michael and
Chris chasing him down. Rob Potter shows us that being a dad has
only slowed him down a little bit, still perfected the day. He needs
to watch out Van, Scott , Thomas and Jimmie are not far behind! Bert
Perry had definite home track advantage for his wins. We lost Marc
Thomas on the 4th straight racing Anthony but am sure he will be
rolling the gate at the Albany Qualifier. David and Mike did not let
the heat slow them down with David taking home the gold for the 50+
cruiser class. Ladies cruiser saw lots of fun with Lauren and Shayne
jousting for position on the corners, Shayne sneeking under Lauren
for the win. Those lessons with her son Ty are paying off!! The heat
did take its toll by the end of the day, but hats off to everyone
because no-one rolled the gate in these classes.

Our girls classes have taken on a pattern of repeats. Ashley Jarvis,
Reese Camarata, Kalee Reynolds, Cheyenne Grant, Kaylee Miller and
Heather Wallace have dominated their age groups all year. Look
forward to seeing them dominate the Presidents Cup at the end of the
year.
Expert classes while still on the small side are bundled with
surprises and superb bike handling skills. Our 16 Expert is still
the class to watch. Nathan Grant pulled it out first to the finish
line in the main to break Brandon Murphy’s winning streak, with
Michael Porter using home track advantage and coming in a tight 3rd
place. Raymond Yoda had some bad luck this day and spent more time
on the ground than on his bike he was trying so hard.. Alex Palmer
kept his cool for the overall win.
Novice class is consistently seeing main events in 11 year olds, and
26 through 40 novice class. Jordan Camarata pulled out a superb win
in the main followed closely by Nick Connelly and Logan Bradford.
Our combined older boys novice classis always exciting. Al Farmer is
going for the gold in the State Championship and maintained a
perfect for his day of racing, but keeping him honest is Thomas
Gonzales. I believe few points will be separating them at the State
Championship. Thomas Tedesco and Christian Perry dominated their
classes of 12 and 13 novice. Chris Wells out pedaled his competition
for the day and I believe Christopher Moore is well on is way to
becoming an expert before this series is over. The expert novice
combo class for the 35-41 and over is always fiercely competitive.
Some of these gentlemen were racing 2 classes!!!! Sonny Hines just
got beat on the finish line by Jim Bolt an expert from Acworth Ga.
Al Ferri chased them both down hard for the 3rd. There were some
very tired and hot dads!!!!
The pocket rockets were the energizer bunnies of the day. The 103
degree heat did not slow them down one bit. Chaz Crawford is still
dominating but Evan Williams and Rickie Jennings are his toughest
competition in this 6 year old age group. We had 11 riders in this
class, and I always wish we had 11 gates in the mains!! Stephen
Mills in our 7 Rookie was a man on a mission, took care of business
with his dad cheering him on. Denver Beamon was a constant first in
the 8 rookie class followed closely by Jack Woolbright who only
started racing this year.
Team racing. THANK YOU team managers for all that you do for the
State of Georgia. We had a record 11 teams entered for the days
racing. Bicycles Unlimited scored some wonderful bonus points with
their novice riders to take home the win for the event. Team Savage,
Team Chehaw, and River City all fought for the remaining top 3 spots
and it came down to tie breakers.
The State Qualifier at Albany
should prove to be a nail biter as it is the last opportunity to get
your best points.
Look forward to seeing you’all at Albany July 18th. Please stay
tuned for some wonderful weekend events that Albany are planning for
us.
Sincerely,
Shayne, Stacy, Nicolle and Mike.

Report back on SQ # 2 at McDonough on May 30:
It turned
out to be a beautiful sunny day for racing after all the rain Georgia
has experienced. There was even a little breeze at the top of the
starting hill. Thank you to all the Sandy Ridge crew for getting the
track into tip top shape and for all their volunteering throughout
the day.
Team racing is still the talk of the day with Bicycles Unlimited
taking home the win followed closely by Team Savage and Kovachi
Wheels and Juluka filling in the top 4 spots. Thank you to all the
team managers who put in a lot of hard work for the day. We had 9
teams competing for the days events. It will be the best 3 out of 4
finishes and with riders moving up in proficiency as the year
progresses it could be anyones’ title in October. Top 6 teams
received payout.
Expert racing was very exciting all around. Brandon Murphy continues
to dominate the 16 expert class with Nathan Grant getting his groove
back after breaking his leg in March. Alex Palmer is making the most
of his 15 expert racing, taking home the gold before he turns 16 by
October! Ryan. Ty and Tevin, have been racing eachother for years and
Ryan took home the honors this time. Welcome back to Cole Accord and
congratulations to Owen Witcher for his perfects. With the addition
of the 41 and over novice class dads are coming back to racing in
their droves!!! Sonny Hines and Al Ferri will be duking it out for
the title in October. Both gentlemen are very competitive on the
track and in the main event there was some tight racing with Jim
Bolt, the expert taking it to the finish line for win. The over 19
experts and novices all have combined classes but that does not mean
anyone gives an inch. Dimitrie Dyke, the youngster, still had to work
hard for his win with Thomas Gonzales keeping him honest out there.
Well done gentlemen.
Our girls classes continue to grow and in particular the 11 and 8
year old girls. Well done to Maya and Reese who perfected the day and
did well for their teams too.
Novice classes are BIG!! 15 novice was a battle between Christopher
Moore and Quinton Palmer, with Chris winning out the day and the 14
novice Chris Wells earning his perfects for the day and Bicycles
Unlimited. 11 Novice is another growing class and with kids aging up
before the State Championship the title is not a one man show.
Nicholas Well continues to dominate but Luke Doran is right on his
tail at each and every opportunity. There are no clear cut winners
for the 9 novice, but Drew Price won the main. They race their hearts
out and no-one perfected their motos. This is the class to watch
develop.
Cruiser classes are a lot of fun to watch. Some of the dads are
racing 2 classes, Jimmie ,Bart, Thomas and Paul all needed a spa when
they got home I am sure. Congratulations to Rob Mcallister, Rob
Potter, Victor Palmeri on their perfects. ALL RACING WAS NECK AND
NECK WITH ALMOST FULL GATES!!!
Lets not forget our rookies. The 17 and over rookie class covers
riders from 17 through 40 years young! They had fun with Jimmie (
racing 2 classes back to back) taking home the ultimate win in that
class. The 14 through 10 rookie classes saw very few perfects as
riders got better and better on the track as the day progressed.
Again this year as last year the action remained in the 5,6,7,8
rookie classes. Our pocket rockets did an awesome job around the
track with Ricari and Blake battling it out for first place finishes.
Denver brought it home for 8 rookie for Team Extreme, Matthew made it
#1 for the 7 rookie and Chaz pedaled for all it was worth for his
perfect day of racing.
Thank you to you all for an exceptional day of racing.
Look forward to seeing you at the Peachtree City BMX State Qualifier
June 20th.
Yours in riding,
Shayne

Bicycles Unlimited parade lap (winners of team racing round # 1.

Report back on SQ # 1 at Augusta on March 21:
What a beautiful start to our series. The
weather was picture perfect, cool breeze and blue skies. August BMX
track director Mitch Moon and his volunteers had done an outstanding
job of getting everything in top notch shape from the groomed track,
excellent food, to the red shirted volunteers helping out everywhere
you looked. You ROCK Augusta!!

(Agenda and minutes)
We had 131 riders, 36 motos, 1 main and a mini pro-am event to
mark the days events. After all had received their tool bags and
multi tool to go with it, we got done to the business of racing. Our
16 expert class have been racing each other for years now with
Brandon Murphy pulling off a perfect for the day for his team
Bicycles Unlimited, Jeremy Goldston giving him a run for his money in
second and Dakota Rutledge, Garrett Beachy, Dylan Reynolds Charles
Sears rounding out the expert wins, Josh Piazza keeping up with the
class although he was the only 16 novice. We were missing a few
riders in this class and some of them will be aging up soon, so look
for some exciting racing in the next 3 series! Welcome back to Cole
Acord who along with Owen Witcher and Blaine Farmer made for good
solid 10 expert racing. Owen had to pedal hard for his 2/3 wins! Our
young at heart riders in the 41expert/41 novice classes and the
19ex/35-40 novice showed that you are never toooooo old to race BMX .
Al Ferri and Waymon Post led the pack in moto 10 and Dimitrie Dyke of
Evolution had youth on his side (19 years ) but Thomas Gonzales and
Matthew Gates most definitely made him work for his wins!
Novice class will be big this year.11 novice has some fierce
competition with Nicholas Wells taking home first place finish for
his team Bicycles Unlimited, Luke Doran close second from Augusta and
Jacob Fulcher , Bike Tech ,rounding out the top three. Although our 5
novice, 7 novice, and 8 novice classes were combined with Trevor
Harrison , Juluka, making his perfect, Alec ,Andrew and Gavin pedaled
proudly round the long track and made for some hearty racing.
Ah the cruiser classes, we grow every year and it was wonderful to
see some of our BMX friends back in the sport of BMX. David Capell
looked fast out there and took home a perfect against Mike Corley.
This was Mike Corely’s first race, his son just started racing and so
Dad has joined him. As he gets his skills it will be interesting for
this 50plus cruiser class. Fierce racing between Sonny Hines and
Anthony Robinson in all 3 rounds with Anthony of Juluka taking home
the ultimate win and Scott Lovelace and Paul Runion ( racing 2 bikes)
keeping the boys honest!! Shayne , Melissa, Brandy and Kathy Gogolack
proudly represented the girl cruiser classes! Victor Palmeri took
home firsts , Dylan Reynolds took home firsts in the combined cruiser
classes. We had a number of very brave riders doing double duty.
Dylan, Thomas, Drake, Nicholas, and Paul worked those legs really
hard all day!!!
Rookies abound! Brandon Simmons won beautifully 15 rookie class and
with that win under his belt he turned novice straight after. Watch
out 15 novice class! For our 13/14 rookies the winswent back and
forth all day with Cody Dutton making it 2/3 and moving to novice
immediately after, and our newest rider Marquel making a two seconds
and a first. Austin Reyes took home the gold for 12 rookie. Our 11,
10 and 9 rookie classes saw some wonderful emerging riders. Watch out
for Cory Simmons, Logan and Bradley Mason moving up in the future.
Our 8, 7 and 6 rookies did not disappoint either and probably we will
be seeing some move-ups shortly in these area. Congratulations to
Denver Beamon, team X-treme for his perfect, and Race Parker holding
on for the overall 1st place finish for the 6 rookies. The 7 rookies
are too close to call and exchanged 1st place finishes in each and
every moto, Matthew Langdon finally took home the gold for this one.
Love my 5 and under Rookie class. Braxton, Sean Dalton and Tyler, you
guys rock out there. Braxton narrowly beat out Dalton , Tyler and
Sean for the overall win. Folks I tell you this class is anybodies
guess as they practice and grow their skills. (as well as their
size!!!)
TEAM RACING;
Results are now posted and very interesting indeed. Bicycles
Unlimited won the tie breaker with Team Savage and Team X-treme
coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Juluka, Bike Tech, River City,
Augusta BMX and Kovachi all had some good scores too. Early days yet
but as the numbers grow for the next couple of series look for some
exciting finishes.
Thank you to all the team managers who have put a lot of hard work
into this. We appreciate you very much!!
Well that’s all for now folks! We look forward to seeing you in
McDonough May 30th for round 2 of our Ga State series . Thank you for
